Linda D. is a homeowner in Salina, KS and has watched the concrete in front of her home settle over time. However, it reached a point where she was worried it might cause damage to her home’s foundation and roof. In addition, the appearance of the uneven and broken concrete, and its potential of being a tripping hazard drove her to have it repaired. Linda was familiar with Thrasher and our ability to fix it right the first time. Her concrete needed a permanent solution, so she gave us a call.
To begin the restoration, System Design Specialist Brent Randolph arrived at the Salina, KS home to perform a thorough inspection of all affected areas. Brent noticed that the walkway to the front entry was sinking, as well as multiple areas on the driveway. The driveway also had multiple cracks from the lack of support underneath. To combat these issues, Linda opted to have us install our 2-Part Concrete Protection System. The teams began by injecting our PolyLevel foam to lift and level the sunken areas. The lightweight foam is waterproof and stabilizes the concrete permanently. Then, NexusPro sealer was applied to all cracks and control joints to prevent any water from infiltrating underneath. The combination of these two products guarantees the concrete will be ready to stand the test of time.
Linda couldn’t have been more thrilled with the final restoration of the concrete around her home. She was impressed with how effective our solutions are, and quality of work put forth from our team. Linda was able to repair her driveway for the fraction of the cost of replacing it and is a defining reason as to why she chose Thrasher.
The front steps to Cindy's home had poorly settled, causing a huge tripping hazard to any guests visiting her home. System Design Specialist Brent See went out to her house to see what was going on and how Thrasher could help.
We found that Cindy's front step was 11" from the top of the stoop. Cindy was extremely worried the only option would be to tear out the step altogether, but we assured her this was an easy fix with PolyLevel.
PolyLevel raised the step to its original height, making her front steps look like new again!
Doug J in Salina, KS was growing worried over gaps and settling in his concrete. Kids are constantly outside riding bikes and skateboards the area, was becoming a safety hazard. After getting a recommendation from a neighbor about Thrasher, he decided to give us a call.
System Design Specialist Sheldon Sharp went out to Doug’s home. He was able to see that the top slabs were settling quite a bit and the cracks were very large. The porch was also settling, making it difficult to sit on because of the angle. The crew used PolyLevel to lift and stabilize the concrete. The Magee family hated the way the approach to their garage looked. They had seen Thrasher fix a few homes in their neighborhood and decided to give us a call. AJ Lavoie, System Design Specialist, went out to their home to inspect and develop a solution.
Upon inspection, he found the concrete had settled in several areas at their home due to the washout of soil underneath the concrete. The root of the problem? A leaking buried downspout pipe. This pipe was causing additional soil washout near their garage approach and sidewalk, which caused the concrete to sink further.
Our install team instantly got to work. We lifted and leveled the concrete at the garage approach and the back patio with PolyLevel. Then, we sealed the joints and repaired cracks with NexusPro joint sealant.
The Magee family was so happy with the finished result that Thrasher was able to get to the bottom of it and bring solutions to fix it.
This customer was selling his home so that they could move closer to family. They wanted to make sure that they fixed the cracks in their garage floor so they could increase home value and make sure that new homeowners won't have any issues.
So they called Thrasher.
Sheldon Sharp visited their home to conduct the inspection. He found that the garage concrete floor had settled due to years of poorly compacted soil and water erosion. There were several voids underneath the concrete, which started the cracks to occur.
To fix, we used PolyLevel to lift and level the garage pad, and then we used NexusPro to seal all cracks and joints. The customer was super happy with the result and can now put his home on the market.
