Michelle and James were concerned with the concrete around their pool area. The shallow end is where the little kids played, and the settling concrete slabs were causing a major tripping hazard. They did not want anyone to get hurt! Another primary concern was the concrete settling even more, which could cause issues to their existing underground pool.
They chose Thrasher because they knew the capabilities of the team. To resolve Michelle and James' problem, we utilized PolyLevel foam, NexusPro joint, and crack sealer. We injected foam under the concrete to lift and stabilize it. The NexusPro sealed all the joints and cracks to create a tight surface to ensure water does not get below the concrete.
Michelle and James can now enjoy a worry-free summer next to their pool!
Greg knows he's going to move out of his home in the next few years, so he wants to do some home improvement projects to increase the home value. And he wants to start with the pool. The concrete around the pool was uneven and cracking. He chose Thrasher to repair the pool because we were reasonably priced and he liked that we were honest and upfront about the whole process.
AJ Lavoie visited Greg's home to inspect the pool deck. Upon inspection, AJ found the concrete around the pool had sunken due to the soil being poorly compacted during the building process, which is a typical occurrence with pools. Before we fixed this, we let Greg know that pools are notoriously tricky to lift and level, but if anyone can do it, it's us. We started by lifting the sunken deck slabs with PolyLevel and then applied NexusPro joint sealant to ensure moisture can not enter through the open control joints and cracks.
The final result looked great and we were able to lift the sunken slabs where they were originally. Greg was ecstatic and thought the result was better than he could have ever imagined!
This homeowner noticed some voids in the driveway after bouncing a basketball. After further inspection, they also found some cracks in the corner of the garage and the walkways. System Design Specialist Sheldon Sharp went out to their home and recommended using Nexus Pro Joint and Crack Sealant to fill the voids in the driveway, the walkway, and the garage. There was no longer a tripping hazard and the homeowner was thrilled the garage was filled and had peace of mind it wouldn't crack anymore.
These homeowners were worried that someone will trip and fall because their front porch stairs were broken and had sunk. They also frequently have friends over so they feel like it is an eyesore and an embarrassment. This is their forever home, so they want to enjoy coming home and utilizing the space their front porch provides.
We assessed that the soil under the concrete was voided and with the weight of the stairs, it cracked the slab at the bottom of the last step. The two slabs leading up to the stairs had also fallen and it was only a matter of time before the rest of the slabs experienced the same fate. To restore the curb appeal of the concrete we started by using a jack to prop up the stairs and inject PolyLevel foam under them to stabilize the area. We then lifted and stabilized the other two slabs that had fallen. All control joints were cleaned and caulked with NexusPro. Now this couple can feel good about having friends come over!
This homeowner wanted to make his front step safe for kids because his family is planning on fostering more kids. The previous homeowner had patched up the step, but it didn't repair the drop the steps have experienced due to soil washout underneath. This acted as a bandage to improve the appearance, but not a real solution. We used PolyLevel foam to lift and level the step, filling the voids and compressing the loose soil that remained after the other soil was washed out. Now this step is safe and secure for the homeowner and his family.
