Sinking Back Patio Creates Patch of Ice in Orillia, Ontario

When something goes wrong at your home, it can be hard to know where to turn. Choosing the right contractor can be hard, but making the right choice makes the entire process that much easier.

A customer in Orillia, Ontario, decided to reach out to us after dealing with pooling water on their back patio for several years. Whenever the temperatures dropped, she dealt with a miniature skating rink, and she was concerned about water seeping into her basement.

Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the homeowner and inspected her back patio. Paul showed her how our PolyLevel® Solution works, and she was excited to hear that the concrete didn’t need to be ripped apart and repoured.

Foreman Mark Sealy started the repair by drilling dime-sized holes in the concrete. Using these ports, he injected our high-density polyurethane. Once injected, PolyLevel® expands beneath the concrete compressing any fill soils and lifting the slab. Mark injected slowly, keeping control of the amount of polymer being used and lifting the concrete evenly.

The customer is very happy with the work down by Canadian Concrete Leveling and wishes she gave us a call years sooner.

Old Carpet Hides Cracking on Front Porch in Orillia, Ontario

Hide it and forget it is sometimes an option we turn to. We throw something away in the storage room, or we use a rug to cover a small stain. It works, but it’s not the best way to remedy a situation.

A customer in Orillia, Ontario, had an old carpet on his front porch. It had been there for years, and when he finally removed it, he found cracking and sinking throughout his concrete porch. His neighbours had previously had work done by us, so he decided to give us a call too.

The homeowner met with Project Manager Paul Mendell, and a date was set for the repair. Foreman Kyle McKeown used our PolyLevel® system to lift and level the concrete, while also compressing the fill soils below. This prevents any further sinking or a washout down the road.

With the work complete, the customer is ecstatic about his front porch. He was impressed with the job done and has recommended us to family and friends.

Back Patio Settled and Cracked in Cumberland Beach, Ontario

A customer in Cumberland Beach, Ontario, was concerned about their backyard. As custom home builders, they take extreme pride in the workmanship and the look of their home. Unfortunately, their beautiful flagstone patio had gone from backyard oasis to cracked and sloped water collector. The flagstone was built on top of concrete pads, which sunk when the substrate beneath them settled. This caused water to drain towards the foundation instead of away from it, making the patio unsightly and creating cracks and tripping hazards. The customer had also installed two unique, large armour stones that connected to the patio, which sank significantly due to the weight. Ready to bring their backyard back to life, they reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling.

Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the customer to review their options. After creating a plan, a date was set for Foreman Bill McKeown and Installation Specialist Mark Sealy to complete the work. They injected PolyLevel® in numerous locations, slowly raising and leveling the concrete. PolyLevel® not only raises the concrete, but it also compacts the ground below it, helping to prevent future settlement. To seal the cracks, Bill & Mark used our NexusPro® Sealant. NexusPro® is resistant to UV light and extreme temperatures, creating a seal that not only looks great but lasts long too!

The homeowners are thrilled that they no longer have to worry about water draining towards their foundation and any tripping hazards. Their backyard looks great once again, and they can continue to take pride in their home and workmanship thanks to Canadian Concrete Leveling.

New Retiree Looking to Redo Backyard in Cobourg, Ontario

Redoing your backyard can be a massive undertaking, but it’s worth it when you see the final result.

A customer in Cobourg, Ontario, was starting his backyard renovation. The client has recently retired, and his new backyard was his top priority. He knew how important it was to level his concrete pool deck before he started, and the backyard was borderline unusable due to the failing concrete.

Project Manager Kyle O’Brien met with the homeowner and inspected the backyard. The client was expecting Kyle to say he needed to have new slabs poured but was presently surprised by our solution.

Kyle explained that our PolyLevel® System uses high-density polyurethane injections to lift the concrete back to a level grade. The customer was concerned about the issue returning, but Kyle showed him a video demonstrating how our system also compresses soils below.

Foreman Kyle McKeown was tasked with completing the repair. Kyle installed our PolyLevel® System to lift the concrete back to grade. Once he was finished, he patched the injection holes and showed the customer the completed repair.

The homeowner is thrilled that his concrete is repaired. He knew he needed the work done before redoing his backyard, and he was excited that the first step was complete.

Sinking Foundation Threatens Small Cottage in Severn Bridge, Ontario

The Trent Severn is one of the most famous waterways in Ontario. Many live directly on the water, while others use it as a channel to get to where they’re going.

The owner of a small cottage resort in Severn Bridge, Ontario, reached out to Canadian Concrete Leveling after one of the small cottages had settled. The small building was built on a large concrete slab, and erosion from the nearby waterway had caused the entire building to lean.

Project Manager Paul Mendell met with the customer and inspected the cottage. Paul explained how our PolyLevel® System uses polyurethane injections to lift sinking concrete, and Foreman Kyle McKeown was tasked with the repair.

Kyle carefully injected our solution into dime-sized injection ports through the floor. He used a Zip-Level® tool to ensure the entire floor was lifting evenly. Once the repair was complete, we patched the holes with fresh concrete.

The customer is thrilled with the completed work. He is confident that the building is safe and sound, and he’s ready to sell it to the next eager cottager.
