A homeowner in Cincinnati had a few concrete sidewalk slabs that were sinking so they called us and scheduled an appointment with Mark to find a solution to this problem. Mark recommended Polylevel injections to raise these slabs. You can really see just how high we were able to raise this slab if you look at the horizontal line near the bottom of the brick chimney in the before picture. That's precisely where we were asked to raise the slab back to.
Concrete is a very heavy material, and when you have thick slabs sitting on top of unstable soil, you could see some pretty large cracks as a result. In the before picture, if you look just under the blue line, you can see how the slab is slanted downwards towards the left. We were able to level the slab by injecting the left side with our PolyLevel foam. Our foam gets injected underneath the concrete, and is strong enough to raise the slab back to where it originally was. We then seal everything with our concrete sealers, which will cover everything up.
Before calling us, a homeowner in Dayton, KY, faced a common but troubling issue: an unlevel sidewalk and driveway that compromised both curb appeal and safety. Notice in the before photo how unsettling the uneven concrete looks. The after photo beautifully demonstrates our solution. By skillfully applying PolyLevel and sealing joints with NexusPro, we restored the area's functionality and appearance. The transformation speaks volumes about delivering remarkable customer experiences through reliable, lasting solutions.
The most common problem with a sunken driveway is a gap created between the garage floor and the concrete driveway. It may be hard to tell, but in the before picture seen here, there was about a 2-3 inch gap between the top of the driveway and the garage floor. This gap was considered a tripping hazard and a nuisance for the homeowners to pull their car out of. We raised the driveway a couple inches by lifting the slabs with our PolyLevel foam injections. PolyLevel foam is a lighter, cleaner, more effective alternative than mudjacking. If you need your driveway looked at for leveling, be sure to give us a call for a free inspection!
The cracks in these concrete slabs could allow for further weather intrusion, causing the concrete cracks to get worse. We filled the cracks with Nexus Pro crack sealant, which is UV-resistant and won't crack or bubble.
