This homeowner in Larchwood, Iowa was tired of the damp, musty 'basement smell' that many homeowners are familiar with. They also worried that the moisture and humidity they were feeling was also encouraging mold growth. After tracing the source of the moisture to an adjoining crawl space, we sealed the space using CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls and floor of the crawl space, then installed a high-powered SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to maintain health humidity levels in the crawl space and basement. The homeowner was pleased with the result, and can now rest a little easier knowing that the basement and crawl space is clean, dry and safe.
This homeowner recently refinished his floors and wanted to make sure they weren't going to get ruined or "spongy". When we went to the property to perform the inspection, we found the humidity and moisture levels of the wood flooring in the crawlspace was causing the wood to soften and sink, resulting in the spongy feeling they had on the main level on the home.
The existing concrete support columns were spaced too far apart, which only cause the issue to get worse. On top of that, there was an area under the washer/dryer and kitchen that had zero support with a failing concrete cinderblock, making the entire floor very unstable.
To fix, we used our CleanSpace vapor barrier system to encapsulate and isolate the earth from the rest of their home, which will help prevent moisture from eating into the wood flooring above. It'll drastically reduce the humidity levels and keep the floor as strong as possible. We also installed our SmartJack system and supplemental beams to solidify the floors and help better support their home.
This homeowner was getting water in his basement. While this problem wasn't bothering him, he wanted to sell his house to move closer to his daughter, and his potential buyer would only purchase his house if the basement water problem was fixed. The homeowner had a friend who recommended us, so he decided to give us a call for a free estimate.
We sent System Design Specialist Chris Holmes to inspect the basement and determine the likely sources that water was coming in from. Chris found that the foundation walls had some cracking in them and that during wet times, water was finding its way in along the cracks and the unsealed corners of the wall. After discussing the solutions custom to the home with the current homeowner, Chris moved forward with scheduling an installation. Our installation team installed a WaterGuard Interior Drainage System, a full-height CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, and they redirected the water to his sump pump to pump the water out of his basement.
The homeowner was very happy with the results of the project, especially since we were able to solve his problems under his budget. The potential buyer is now moving forward to buy this home from the homeowner. Check out the newly waterproofed basement!
Dan was looking for a company that would fix his basement problem correctly at a good price. We were able to fix his bowing walls using Geolock Anchors. Dan has some water damage in the same space. We were able to use a 2 stage WaterGuard DM on the wall that was supported with anchors. This made a huge improvement in the value and structure of the home.
Look at this transformation! From dirty, musty crawlspace, to a clean, healthy crawlspace. For this project, System Design Specialist, Jeremey Scott, came out to help. This crawlspace was battling a multitude of issues from water, to humidity, and a nasty musty smell that was seeping into the home. To help with these issues, we installed CleanSpace, which is our encapsulation system that helps keeps moisture out and clean air in. This acts a barrier, so water and musty air do not cause harm to the health of the home. With the help of Jeremey and Thrasher, they do not have to worry about breathing in bad air any longer! They have the peace of mind they deserve.
