Corner Crisis, Woodbridge ON

This beautiful property in Woodbridge, Ontario, had a large concrete back patio where there had been major sinking spots along the edge of the home. The homeowners wanted to increase the property by conducting some renovations, starting with the basement. However, when getting their estimate for the renovations, the contractor realized a problem on the outside. The corner of the patio was sinking by three inches to the point that the foundation was exposed. On wet days, water would pool up in that corner which raised concern about the water leaking through the home's foundation and into the basement. The patio needed to be fixed before all the renovations were affected by water damage.

With some research, the homeowners discovered that Canadian Concrete Leveling could permanently level the concrete affordably without cutting into their renovation budget. Our Project Manager, Kyle O'Brien, arrived at the home to start inspecting the patio. He suggested that we lift the corner above the original height to create a slope where the water shoots away from the house rather than sitting on top of the slabs. Once the concrete's levelled, we will apply our NexusPro® sealant to the joints to protect them entirely from moisture. On a later day, Bill McKeown, our Installation Foreman, went to the home and began levelling. He focused on the sinking points around the corner to fill any potential voids. It was time to lift the three inches to three and a half to create a slope. Bill levelled the concrete and began applying our sealant around the perimeter. The process was quick to complete, and the homeowners can resume renovations worry-free.

Concrete Patio Stabilized, Woodbridge , ON

A new homeowner had just purchased a house in Woodbridge, ON. After moving in, the homeowner noticed water pooling at the back of the house. It was coming from the concrete patio which was sinking towards the foundation. If left untreated, the homeowner was worried there would be significant damage to the house if the water started leaking through the foundation to the basement.

One of our Project Managers met with the homeowner to see exactly what was happening with the patio. He recommended our patented PolyLevel Injection System to lift and stabilize the concrete. Billy McKeown, Foreman, and installation team injected PolyLevel under the concrete slabs and leveled the patio within a few hours. The homeowner was happy to see the patio was level and that there would be no more pooling water – the foundation was safe and sound.

Concrete Hazards Fixed Around Home in Bolton, ON

Uneven concrete walkways always pose safety issues. The concrete walkway at a home in Bolton, ON, was sinking along the front and side of the house. Tripping hazards were everywhere. The sinking concrete was also affecting the patio – it was starting to crack. The homeowner wanted to find a solution quickly for the walkway. Not only did he want to keep his family safe, but his parents also lived in the house, and he didn’t want them to worry about using the walkway or the patio.

The homeowner found Canadian Concrete Leveling and gave us a call. Our Project Lead went to speak to the homeowner and explain how our PolyLevel Injection System could fix the walkway and patio permanently. Our Foreman, Kyle McKeown, and installation team set up the PolyLevel equipment and injected polyurethane through dime-sized holes in the concrete walkway and patio. The polyurethane lifted and stabilized the concrete in both places – the entire area was level once again.

The homeowner was excited the walkway could be used again safely for everyone in the house. He was surprised the PolyLevel system could be installed so quickly within a few hours.

Sinking Concrete Leaves Older Customer Worried in Caledon, Ontario

There are times when keeping our home safe requires extra help. We want to be able to repair everything ourselves. In most cases, doing it yourself is out of the question.

An elderly homeowner in Caledon, Ontario, realized her front steps were sinking. She was extremely worried the steps were becoming a dangerous trip hazard for her and visitors that would drop by. She knew she needed to call a professional company to fix the steps correctly but had no idea who to call.

After seeing one of our videos on Instagram, the homeowner decided to call Canadian Concrete Leveling. She met with Project Manager Joe McColl. He inspected the concrete steps and explained how our PolyLevel® System could lift and level them within a matter of a couple of hours. Feeling more at ease about finally getting the steps fixed, she got excited for the day the crew would arrive. She would be able to watch the work in progress!

Foreman Kyle McKeown drilled dime-sized holes in the bottom portion of the steps for the injection ports. As Kyle pumped our PolyLevel® product under the concrete, the homeowner watched the steps lift right in front of her eyes. Once the steps were level, Kyle patched the holes with fresh concrete.

The homeowner is thrilled the steps were safe to use again. She is so thankful for all of the hard work Joe and Kyle performed on her behalf. Watching the crew in action gave her complete peace of mind – she knew she wouldn’t have to worry about tripping on them anymore.

Eliminating a Trip Hazard in Toronto, ON

A home in Toronto, Ontario had a sinking slab on the front walkway. The walkway had cracked across the middle, and one half of the slab was sinking towards the crack creating a trip hazard and causing water to pool on the walkway after heavy rain. During the winter the pooling water in this area would freeze and cause a slip hazard as well. The customer wanted to fix this so that it would no longer be a safety hazard.

The customer called Canadian Concrete Leveling to fix the problem. John DiNicolantonio explained to the customer that it would be a quick fix and comes with a complete warranty. Billy McKeown and the team used PolyLevel® Injection to level the walkway, eliminating the trip hazard. The foam travels through the voids underneath the concrete and expands, allowing for us to lift the slab and stabilize the substrate to prevent further settlement. They covered the crack with NexusPro® Joint Sealant to prevent water from making its way between the slabs again. The customer now has a safe and usable walkway. They were delighted that they could have the walkway fixed at a fraction of the cost of concrete replacement.
