These homeowners' dream of owning a cabin on the mountainside in Big Indian, New York, turned into a nightmare when they discovered worrisome structural issues. Fearful that their beloved home might eventually slide off the mountain due to poor construction, soil degradation, and water erosion, they sought professional assistance.
Upon inspection, we identified critical problems caused by the failing block piering system. To secure the safety of our team, we initiated temporary support for the cabin before commencing work. Our first step was the meticulous removal of the old block piers.
To ensure a lasting solution, we dug deep into the earth to create solid footings for our SmartJack systems. These sturdy poured footings were strategically placed at the front and center of the cabin, providing strong bases for the SmartJack installations.
In addition, we addressed the issue at the very back of the crawl space by replacing their old main girder with a new triple main girder. This is supported by our SmartJacks, this reinforced girder significantly improved the overall stability of the cabin.
The threat of water penetration was also eliminated by pouring a robust concrete wall at the back of the crawl space. This proactive measure ensured that the homeowners' cherished abode would remain safeguarded from future water-related damages.
Since the completion of this transformative project, the homeowners have experienced a remarkable improvement in their cabin's structural integrity. The SmartJack systems and reinforced girders have provided unprecedented stability, putting their worries to rest.
Our dedicated efforts not only saved their home from potential disaster but, more importantly, restored the homeowners' peace of mind. With confidence in their cabin's structural reliability, they can now fully enjoy their mountain retreat without fear or apprehension.
Our crews replaced the foundation that was no longer able to safely support this Gardiner home. The blocks were laid, then we applied a waterproofing coating and liner to help water drain away from the home.
This home's foundation was unsafe and needed to be rebuilt. We temporarily rasied up the house on our Foundation Supportworks Piers to make it safe to work under the home. Our owner, Dale Giraudin, personally came to the job site and built the new wall himself!
This home in Gardiner, NY needed a new foundation built and a gravity drainage line installed. Our installers take great care when working with heavy machinery around the home, and do their best to clean up as much as possible!
After completing an interior remodel project in their home these homeowners realized that there was an issue with their home. More specifically that their stove was crooked, and throughout the entirety of their home, they had issues with bouncy and creaking floors. What they didn't realize until they went exploring was that between the right rear wall of their home they had a large crack, which was due to the home settling. Due to the settlement of the home, the cracks were spreading into their home through the sheetrock. As well they noticed that the front right corner of the house had a crack that seemed to be causing the same damage to the front of the home as the crack in the back was doing
For us to save their home before it was too late, we excavated around the perimeter of their home and installed 12 Stabil-Loc push pier systems, which spaned from the corner of their porch to the backside of their home past their sliding glass door. Once our systems were in place we then backfilled the excavation area and roughly graded it.
By implementing our piering system we were able to lift, level, stabilize and true their home to the best of our ability. During the lifting process while standing on the deck the homeowner could notice a significant difference almost immediately with the small amount of lifting that we had done before their project was fully completed. They could not have been happier with the outcome of their project, but more importantly, they are so glad that they do not have to worry at night about whether or not their home is going to fall over.
