A homeowner in Pelham, NH, who recently settled into her new residence, observed a crack stemming from her egress window. This defect led to water leakage in the basement during rains, resulting in puddles on the floor. Eager to address the water intrusion and prevent the crack from expanding, she contacted Erickson Foundation Solutions for assistance.
Our Design Specialist, Debra Rayborn, suggested the use of FlexiSpan to address the crack and halt additional basement leaks. The installation team applied a pliable sealant across the entire length of the crack, followed by placing a strip of porous, flexible foam over it. To complete the process, they secured an impermeable membrane on the wall flanking both sides of the foam strip. This robust solution ensures that any subsequent water seepage through the crack will be discreetly directed down the wall and into the basement's perimeter drainage system. Our team removed a small section of the basement's concrete floor to install WaterGuard, which captures any water that may seep through. Once installed, the WaterGuard system was securely cemented into position.
Upon project completion, the crew cleaned the basement and conducted a final walkthrough with the homeowner, demonstrating the installation and addressing any remaining questions. The homeowner can now rest assured that her basement will remain dry and her foundation is secure.
