The common method of repairing basement wall cracks involves an injection of a polyurethane material that generally will fail over time due. This material dries into a firm substance that can't move with a wall. A homeowner from North Andover, Massachusetts is looking to build an addition to their home. Before doing so, the homeowner wanted to make sure that the structure of the home was properly supported. Noticing cracks in the basement foundation, this homeowner called Erickson Foundation Solutions to ensure their foundation walls were stabilized.

After scheduling an appointment for a free inspection, a Design Specialist came to the home and identified the issues that were occurring and discussed a range of solutions that works for the homeowner. We recommended installing GeoLock Wall Anchors and BrightWall. Our Geolock system works by installing galvanized steel plates to the wall, and anchoring them to strong and durable soil, thus stabilizing the wall. The BrightWall system is a 100% waterproof rigid plastic paneling for unfinished basement walls. It stops humidity and water vapor from passing through your basement walls, while turning the basement into a bright and beautiful space. Our installation crew installed these walls prior to the installation of the GeoLocks. To set up the GeoLock system, our crew dug a small trench outside of the home where durable soil was found. The anchoring system was drilled through the wall and soil, until reaching the trench. Then, the steel plate and anchor were screwed and tightened into place. Finally, Hide-A-Way covers are added to those steel plates to create an appealing finish.

With this system in place, the basement wall is now stable and can provide support to the rest of the home, including the addition that is planned to be added. Additionally, the basement will be a much more comfortable living space.

Homeowners in Georgetown, Massachusetts planned on making a playroom for their children in the basement. The egress window, paired with the well and cover, is designed to allow more natural light into the living space, while also providing a safe exit in the event of an emergency. The RockWell well system has built in steps and a strong, durable lid that prevents children, pets, and everything else from falling in.

A homeowner in Strafford, New Hampshire experienced leaks in his finished basement. This created an annoying cleanup process, as well as damages to the finished wall. His main concern was being away from home for long periods of time. As someone who frequently travels, he wanted peace of mind that his basement wouldn't flood while he is away.

Our Design Specialist, Jason Vachon, recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and upgrading the liner to the already existing sump pump. WaterGuard collects water from the high-water table surrounding the home and delivers it to the sump pump. It is then pumped out of the home through an exterior discharge line. The basin that the sump pump used to sit in left the pump exposed, which can be problematic. The TripleSafe liner covers the pump, which prevents debris from clogging the system and minimizes humidity. Once WaterGuard is connected to the sump basin, they are cemented in place to ensure proper flow and create a smooth finish.

With the basement waterproofed, this homeowner finally has the peace of mind that he's been searching for.

A homeowner was in search of a way to waterproof the basement so it could be turned into a 1/2 bedroom and 1/2 storage space. Without a waterproofing system in place, water would leak through cracks in the slab and puddle around the foundation. After completing a free inspection, our Design Specialist recommended installing our SuperSump sump pump, NexusPro joint repair, and our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This system stops water from being able to enter the basement and safely removes it away from the home. NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant that seals joints and cracks in your concrete slab and helps prevent the water from softening and/or eroding the soil underneath. The SuperSump sits at the lowest point of the basement cemented in a basin and pumps water out of the home through an exterior drainage line. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier removes moisture and other toxins in the air and creates a dry and comfortable climate. This is a great product for those planning on living in the basement.
