Check out this transformed basement! After waterproofing their basement this customer was very pleased with the new look of their basement and thrilled knowing it's now protected. 

The homeowner noticed water in their basement. They wanted to get it fixed so that they could one day pass their house down to their son. We used WaterGaurd, CleanSpace, our sump pump, and a discharge line to waterproof their basement. Now they can put in an additional bedroom in the basement and not worry about water damage for the next generation. 

For this homeowner in Buckingham, Iowa, transforming their basement into the ultimate man cave was going to require more than a comfy recliner and a big screen tv. To make the space clean, dry and ready for finishing, he called Thrasher Foundation Repair to waterproof the basement and resolve the musty, damp smell. We installed a drainage system around the perimeter of the basement to capture and redirect water up and away from the home, as well as CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls to help with musty odors and dampness. 

In the middle of their basement living room, these homeowners noticed a concerning sag, which was a direct result of a missing load-bearing wall support. Investigation revealed that the previous homeowners had removed a load-bearing wall in the basement, leading to compromised structural integrity.  Our team assessed the situation and recommended the installation of SmartJacks and a supplemental beam to fully stabilize the middle of the room.

SmartJacks are adjustable steel support posts specifically designed to provide reliable support for sagging floors and weak beams. These robust supports are strategically placed to distribute the load and reinforce the compromised area.

To further strengthen the structural integrity, we installed a supplemental beam that would provide additional support and stability. This beam was carefully positioned and secured to effectively redistribute the weight and prevent further sagging or damage.

This homeowner had recently finished their basement to get it ready to put on the market. During the spring, when the ground melted, they noticed water coming in from behind the stairs, ruining the drywall. So they called Thrasher Foundation Repair to come out and inspect. Mike Portal was the one to perform the inspection. He found that the water was coming in behind the finished walls through the cold and mortar joints on the block wall. This happened due to hydrostatic pressure from water filling up around the foundation.

To fix this issue, we installed WaterGuard and CleanSpace along the wall where the water was coming in. This will help direct and drain the water away from the home.

The homeowner now feels confident in our solution and is happy they won't have to deal with water ruining any more drywall in their home.
