Retaining Wall Replacement

A local homeowners’ association was experiencing deteriorating timber retaining walls that required complete replacement.

Thrasher Foundation Repair replaced the retaining wall and addressed drainage issues.

Thrasher engineered a more structurally sound foundation repair solution by constructing modular block walls. The new block walls offer a more pleasing curb appeal and design, while still providing a structural and permanent foundation.

Thrasher successfully gave this property an effective and beautiful makeover.

A drainage issue that was affecting the growth of some of the association’s decorative trees was also addressed. The trees were saved by integrating a drainage system behind the new block retaining walls and managing the runoff water.

Using Poly Foam To Lift A Sunken Driveway in Leawood, KS

Lifted and leveled, check! We lifted this sinking concrete back to its original position with our product called PolyLevel. Using a Poly gun, we inject the hardening foam into the voids beneath the concrete. Once the foam hardens, it stabilizes and supports the concrete slab above it.

Street Creep Stopped in its Tracks in Leawood, KS

Did you know that the road in front of your house can hurt your foundation? Concrete grows when it's hot and shrinks when it's cold. To reduce the issues caused by temperature changes, Thrasher installs expansion joints in exterior concrete slabs such as sidewalks and driveways. These joints absorb and spread out the stress, allowing the concrete slabs to expand and contract without touching, which lessens the risk of cracking.

However, over time, standard expansion joints may deteriorate, crack, or become filled with debris. When this occurs, the concrete expands altogether, resulting in street creep and a lot of pressure where the driveway meets a garage slab or foundation wall.

To Prevent this, we used Compression Guard on this driveway, which fills the joint in a way that reduces the problems we see with standard expansion joints.

Crawlspace Encapsulation

Make your home healthier and safer with crawl space encapsulation – a smart investment that brings many benefits. Encapsulating your crawl space keeps your space dry and the air inside clean. Keeping you and your family safe from mold, bugs, and potential damage. Plus it'll keep your energy bills down! Check it out in this before and after.

Sinking Basement Floor Fixed With Concrete Repair

This homeowner wanted to repair the downstairs bedroom so she could host her grandkids. In this bedroom, the concrete floor was sinking about 3" in the center of the room. We were able to lift and level the floor using PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam, so now it no longer feels like the room is sinking.
