A homeowner in the Kansas City area called us out because there was a musty smell in her home, causing not only her allergies to get worse, but her partner had started to suffer from the smell. She was quite worried about her partner and her friend had recommended us because we had fixed a similar issue for them.
We sent System Design Specialist Jared Matwich to discuss the problem with the homeowner and determine what solutions could be used to get rid of this musty smell. Jared explored the crawlspace underneath the home and found that the high humidity levels were causing the musty smell throughout the home. Jared called for a team to help him install a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier and a SaniDry Dehumidifier to encapsulate or isolate the crawlspace and regulate the air quality in not only the crawlspace, but the entire home.
These solutions had a huge impact on the quality of life for the homeowners and their health has improved since we were able to isolate the crawlspace air and regulate the humidity spreading to the whole house. They were super impressed with the crew and the work that was done, and our crew was extremely happy that they were able to help improve the health of these homeowners. Check out the encapsulated crawlspace!
We installed our CleanSpace encapsulation system in this Springfield crawl space. CleanSpace is a plastic vapor barrier that's perfect for waterproofing and dirt-proofing unfinished basement walls. Even better, it has a 25-year warranty!
These long-term rental property owners had just purchased a new property in Springfield, MO. They wanted to have everything checked out before they rented it out as a single family home. They heard of Thrasher helping with multiple home problems regarding crawlspaces and foundation repair, so they gave us a call.
We sent System Design Specialist Nick Tiberghien to inspect the home's crawlspace and foundation to ensure that everything was safe for a family to rent this property. Nick found that the older property had significant sagging floors on the main level of the home as well as high relative humidity in the crawlspace. Upon further inspection, Nick found that the floors were sagging due to the distance between floor supports. The floor supports were too far apart and the high humidity in the crawl space had worn down the supports so that they could not properly hold the crawlspace.
After calling the rental property owners and discussing what was going on with the crawlspace and floors of their property, they wanted to get this fixed quickly. Our team got to work on adding 2 SmartJacks underneath the floor support beam as well as a 12-foot supplemental support beam to lift the floor back to be level. After this, they encapsulated the crawlspace using Drainage Matting and CleanSpace to ensure that the high humidity would not weaken the support beam any longer.
The rental property owners were very happy with the work that was done, and they can't wait to start renovating and renting out this property. Check out their crawlspace solutions!
Homeowners Will and Becky Q. in New Hampton, MO wanted to protect their home before problems start to show up. After a previous bid, they chose Thrasher due to our reputation and financing options that made it possible for them to proceed with the repairs.
System Design Specialist Shane visited the home to provide a free, same-day estimate. We used SmartJacks to stabilize the main interior beam and installed drainage matting with CleanSpace and our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier to reduce moisture from entering the home.
This homeowner noticed a few sagging points in his floor and he wanted this problem fixed quickly, so he decided to give us a call. We sent System Design Specialist Brock Jackson to inspect the homeowners crawlspace and determine what was causing the floors to sag as well as determine what solutions would be best to fix this problem. Brock found that the sagging parts of the floor were due to moisture in the crawlspace and that support structures were weakened by this problem. He knew just how to solve this, so he called for an installation team to come to the home and start encapsulating the crawlspace to prevent further damage. The installation team utilized CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to encapsulate the crawlspace, then they addressed the sagging floors issue by installing SmartJacks and a supplemental support beam to strengthen the structure. To further protect the home and prevent any problems from happening again, they installed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. The homeowner was very happy with the results because al of his problems were addressed quickly and efficiently. Check out the before and after!
