Walkway Lifted Using PolyLevel in Rochester, MN

A homeowner in Rochester, MN, noticed that his back walkway had begun sinking causing an uneven platform with a risk of tripping. Because he often had people coming over, he decided to have the issue addressed before it got worse by asking his family if they knew any good contractors in the area. He was recommended American Waterworks and he soon contacted us to schedule his FREE estimate.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Brad W., arrived at the home to conduct a thorough inspection of the walkway and to answer any questions the homeowner had. During his inspection, he explained to the homeowner that one of the common causes of sinking concrete is soil washout. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground, washing away the support soils holding up the concrete slabs. Over time, gaps and voids are created in the soil causing the slab to sink. For this reason, Brad recommended PolyLevel, a high-density poly foam formula that is designed to lift and level concrete. The homeowner happily agreed and scheduled a date for the installation.

In about a month, our Foreman, Jordan S., and his crew arrived at the home to carry out the installation. They began by drilling small holes into the slabs and inserting the injection ports. PolyLevel is then injected beneath the slab, filling in the empty gaps in the soil. Once the slabs have been lifted, the crew ensures it is at the desired level before sealing the holes with cement. After the crew was done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
