Sales Process
did a good job of selling the products.
I should have ask more questions about just how the work would be done. see next question for detailed explanation.
Our Installation Crew
they worked hard. but as I said above the situation should have been thought out in much more detail before the job was started.
The sanidry went in Ok . the turtle installation was not a very smooth operation. this should have been explained to me in much more detail as to whether the thing would have been put flush with the lower edge of the siding or would need to cut out the siding in regard to where the old entry way was located.
Like I said I should have asked many more questions before this but i didn't realize what this entailed until they got here to do the work. the Sanidry was put in on 6-30-20 and then we decided see how the turtle would work.
if the turtle was installed below the siding that was going to leave a 3 inch gap from where the old opening was. so we decided that this would work and your installer would add wooden pieces to the sill and use flashing over that.
Well when they came back on the 7-2-20 to do the turtle install the guys worked hard on very hot day.
I could see that they initially didn't dig enough out to let the unit slide in but I figured they knew what they were doing they did have to dig out more later as I figured they would.
Once the hole was dug and then the the third level of concrete block removed ( the first two where out for the original opening) they realize there was a footing. this should not have been a surprise as the same guys were here to do the sanidry two days before and saw what the foundation blocks looked like and how many. this is lack of experience to do the job.
Now they had no saw or equipment to cut the footing.
He said he could drill holes and chip away at the footing until someone would bring a saw( from Collinsville) this is lack of having the right equipment to do the job.
OR we could just set the thing on the footing and cut out the siding and fasten it that way and then put new j-channel and caulking along the j-channel.. so we figured that would be OK. he had to drive 15 miles to Mt Vernon to get J-channel. that was OK.
then when he they tried to cut the siding he didn't just set the thing in the hole and draw a straight line along the siding to see where it needed to be cut. he just more or less measured and GUESSED where to cut .
then didn't have proper tool to cut the siding. needless to say the cut was way off and not strait.
so after some complaint from me he did make a much more strait cut.
now that that was done the cut was much higher than it should have been.
so now the solution was to raise the turtle tub up off the footing so the J-channel would be high enough to cover the siding cut.
This was accomplished and was OK as that was all that could be done given the situation..
they did put flashing material behind the siding cut
It turned out just OK.
the job should have been figured out in much more detail and explained to me before it was ever started.
I think this was the job of the gentleman who was here to do the annual inspection that wrote up the sales job to start with(Clint Walker). Like I said i didn't
know enough to ask the right questions or I would have at the time.
the job was just OK.
i would not have this done again knowing what i know now unless you had much more experienced installer to do the job and it had been engineered much more in advance and explained.
contact me about this if you feel you need to.

The Cleanup Process
they did good on a very hot day
What type of work did you have done:
Dehumidification
What made you choose our company:
I have had woods system(cleanspace and sump pumps) installed many years a go and for the most part the company is very good.
Termimix wanted to do this same work after they where here for termite inspection and some work they did.
I figured I had woods here for other installations and would keep it all with one company hat should know this kind of work better.
