Concrete starts out strong, rigid, and weighty, making it a great material for residential patios and driveways to warehouse floors. Over time, the level soil underneath the concrete begins to shift with changes in the moisture content in the ground. Soil movement causes voids under the concrete and because concrete is heavy, it starts to sink. Because it’s rigid and inflexible, it starts to crack. Soil movement occurs in a variety of ways, including:
Soil movement is bound to occur, but the damage sunken concrete leaves behind doesn’t have to be permanent. Trusted concrete leveling solutions can easily help resolve such issues.
Mudjacking, also called slab jacking, is a well-known technique for lifting uneven concrete to a level position. Compared to using foam to lift and level concrete, mudjacking has several drawbacks that St. Albert homeowners should know. One major disadvantage is that mudjacking doesn’t address the underlying causes of sunken concrete. It's also messy and disruptive and often damaging to property and landscaping.
Let an expert PolyLevel® concrete lifting contractor serving St. Albert, AB help you repair your sinking concrete slabs before they worsen. Your concrete patio, floor, or walkway will be ready to use and look as good as new in no time! Book a free concrete leveling estimate today.

Comment: Void under steps and probably need sidewalk lifted, void between house and sidewalk Thank you
Project Location: St. Albert, AB T8N 3R8
Comment: Just replaced my big garage doors and now need to replace the side door beside them. However the concrete has sunk under the current side door, so I want to fix that before ordering a new one.
Project Location: St. Albert, AB T8N 4T2
Comment: Front walkway and brick archways at the corner of my garage appear to be shifting away from the house. It appears that the previous owner attempted to fill the gaps along the garage pad and base of the front steps with some sort of urethane sealant. I'm looking for a professional opinion, on whether this condition can be rectified simply by jacking the existing concrete, or whether outright replacement is required.

Comment: Pad outside garage man door (approx 4x10 ft) is sinking and moving away from foundation. About 2-3 inch gap and can see the rebar that sticks out of the foundation is no longer joined to the pad. Driveway along garage door is about an inch down but not sure that is worth looking at yet.

Comment: Uneven concrete driveway at the slab edge.
Project Location: St. Albert, AB t8n 1t8
Comment: A large square portion of my driveway has been shifting over the years and now the gate won't close to the back yard, as the gate-latch pole is leaning sideways, there is a large crack where wasps fly in and out of the concrete and a portion of the slab is sticking up at the opposite corner, high enough to trip you when walking over it. I won't park on it anymore and it creaks like hardwood when being walked on.
